HOW DID I END UP HERE??? - PHASE 000

A world beset by a complex of problems, any one of which would be bad enough, but when you add together all the great political, social, and ecological problem with which we are face they are appalling. And one naturally says the reason why we are in such a mess is not simply that we have wrong systems for doing things whether they be technological, political, or religious but we have the wrong people.

The systems may be all right but they are in the wrong hands because we are all in various ways self-seeking, lacking in wisdom, lacking in courage, afraid of death, afraid of pain.

Unwilling really to cooperate with others. Unwilling to be open to others. [I] would like to improve...

so, in so many people’s minds and from so many different angles, there is this urgent feeling that [I] must improve [me].

and this is critically important because it’s obvious that at least it’s superficially obvious, that the way things are, we are going to hell fast..."

BEGINNING THE JOURNEY - PHASE 001

astrxl is formed

The branding for astrxl is influenced mainly by new wave / eastern spiritual thought. The spiritual ideologies expressed within these religions + mindsets rely strongly on internal introspection as a source of (enlightenment + transcendence). One of the backing principles from astrxl originates from the ancient chinese daoist concept of

無為
(wúwéi)

Which poorly translates to English as 'inaction' or 'effortless action.' In reality, '無為' reflects an internal state of flow & spontaneity, making an effort in the external world seem 'effortless.'

astrxl can publish music of any genre with varying degrees of chaos while still having a sense of disorderly cohesion (almost effortlessly, in a sense).

our articles, interviews, & event coverage merge anything from sold-out mainstream arena touring talent to the underground Bandcamp oddities. to phrase it another way, think of when you hear a track and have a strong internal emotional response to it (but you don't know why); the feeling escapes symbols/signs & eludes our ability to account accurately.

The experience of engaging with it provides a momentary lapse from our 'spot-light' conscious attention in which we slip into states of 'flow.'

Exploring media as a creative vessel is what astrxl seeks to do.

In a world taken over by content with a 24-hour self-life, we hope our articles can inspire future creative endeavours long after their inception. Our explorations of media attempt to be as impartial as possible, viewing creativity from a third person (astrxl body) perspective taking on the role of the individuals ego.

The human experience is vast, and as such, so are our interviews. Being absent from astrxl is imperative to the concept of astrxl.

To begin this journey, it is essential to see the separation between self + other.

Begin to accept the imperfect nature of the human condition.

NON-DUALISTIC PERCEPTION - PHASE 002

Thanks for starting that journey with us. We will never know how you came to feel separate from yourself, and that process looks different for everyone. At times, it can be scary to be put outside your comfort zone, and the last thing your ego wants is to be independent from itself.

Intellectually humans can understand the separation exists, but to attempt to investigate it is a whole other story. Isn't it odd that we wait to change our insights until we internalize our shifts in perspective?

If you ever get nervous along the astrxl plane...

just come back to yourself and focus on the universal truths of love and compassion; it will ground you.

I'm sure you've come to realize it was peaceful. Once you cut yourself off from all the distractions + noise you realize all that is left is the eternal self. Taking yourself out of the monotony of day-to-day life every once and a while is essential (especially in the world we live, which functions so counter-intuitive to this authentic human experience of self).

But you can't spend too much time there; you still have so much to do in this physical realm. Knowing that the seperation exists can make it easier to live a more fulfilling life here on this planet.

Now that you have seen the vastness of what an altered state of consciousness can communicate, wouldn't it be interesting to discover more? The more & more you train this awareness, the deeper your experiences will get. Always make sure to ground yourself, no matter how intense it may be... you are safe & loved. Growth often happens from confronting something uncomfortable.
