Redveil is someone who’s been on my radar for the last two years and I’ve been dying to see a live show. Tracking so many artists in the mainstream + underground it’s blatantly obvious who is going to blow up in the mainstream. Redveil is someone with all the makings of a superstar and this live performance solidified it for me.

Being only 19 years old (at the time of writing) Redveil has had a number of substantial accomplishments in his career, from dropping critically acclaimed albums, brilliant songwriting,  and the only guest feature on JPEGMAFIA + Danny Brown’s masterpiece ‘Scaring the Hoes.’

To say my expectations were high during this set would be an understatement - but I was willing to be a little lenient given Redveil’s age. This leniency wasn’t even needed and Redveil gave one of my favorite performances of the entire weekend.

I was beyond impressed with his stage presence and crowd control. Redveil isn’t a massive artist yet and he even said this was his largest performance to date. The way he could control and hype up the crowd was something of mastery and he flowed through his hits seamlessly.

One of the standout moments from the set was shown in the video clip below. Redveil stopped the show to acknowledge the victims of genocide in Gaza rolling through hundreds of names. While this was going on he mentioned that all of these names were of children under four years old killed in the conflict.

I’ve seen a lot of attempts at social activism at live shows and I dare say this was one of the most effective presentations I’ve ever seen. The way this was set up was truly moving and many in the crowd were visibly moved by this message.

I really can’t say enough good things from this set and Redveil exceeded my expectations all fronts. This kid is going to be a superstar - please go see him before he’s selling out arenas.
